Description
Conducted under the Coaltech Research Organisation (2022–2025), the research evaluated differently aged, rehabilitated coal-mined lands (4–30 years post-rehabilitation) across threeMpumalanga mines, focusing on soil recovery, pasture performance, forage quality, and theeconomic feasibility of integrating livestock within rehabilitated systems. Complementaryfield trials tested integrated cropping, zero grazing and grazing pressure effects on soil, vegetation, and forage dynamics under controlled conditions.
